The Lutron Grafik Eye 350x range (eg. 3504 and 3506) is quite a rare range of Grafik Eye's compared to the 310x (eg. 3104 and 3106) range.
From time to time when the 350x range is required there is not sufficient stock.
Accordingly Rosette Electrical have worked to find a solution for installations where a substitution for 350x is required.
Please see below the 350x part code and the proposed substitute part code.
350x Part Code | Substitute Part Code (310x) | Control Types and Circuit Quantity
GRX 3506 CE | GRX 3106 CE | 6 circuits, leading edge mains dim or switched
GRX 3504 CE | GRX 3104 CE | 4 circuits, leading edge mains dim or switched
GXI 3504 CE | GXI 3104 CE |

Although the substitute models are quite similar to the 350x models, there are somethings to be aware of :
310x
This range is programmed via the front panel of the device
350x
This range is programmed via the front panel of the device, and / or via a laptop connected to the Grafik Eye
Notes
The Laptop programme feature is in our experience rarely used
310x
14 preset dimmed levels per channel
350x
100 preset dimmed levels per channel
Notes
While the 350x gives can give greater level of refinement when setting a dimmed channel; the 310x can achieve the same max and min dim levels. The only difference is the level of detail you can fine tune between them. In reality 14 preset dimmed levels per channel is more than enough for most installations, even high end residential and art gallery installs.
On all Grafik Eye's you can set an identifiable ID, the communication bus which is used in a multi Grafik Eye install, or an install with a control system uses the Grafik Eye ID rather than the model number to identify a unit. As long as you set the replacement Grafik Eye to the same ID as the Grafik Eye you are removing the rest of the system should interact with the new Grafik Eye as exactly as before.
